The monstrous Demon-god Bahtot came to attack Skura when her twin sons, Koros and Semoz were still young, strong but untested. Skura knew that Bahtot wanted to destroy her and her sons, and then destroy the world. The Goddess cast a spell of sleep that wrapped all the world’s people in a dreamworld that kept out the evils of the night, including Bahtot. She then captured the twins in her gaze, to protect them from Bahtot. Koros was trapped within her right eye; Semoz was within her left eye. Bahtot threw his spear, shattering Skura’s left eye and leaving Semoz vulnerable. With one swipe, Skura cast Semoz — and the broken fragments of her eye — down into the world. She commanded him to remain there and to bring magic to the world to protect it. Skura then destroyed Bahtot with the creature’s own spear, casting it into the Void of Madness. She commanded Koros, her remaining eye, to watch over the world and his brother — but forbade him from leaving the plane of the Gods. Thus it is that the Twin Heroes must forever be separated, joined only by their destiny as protectors of this world.

Many beyond Moru Kel, and a growing number of locals, consider the hero Twin Moons, Koros and Semoz, to be Dawa’s sons. Those who still worship Skura will tell you that Skura — not Dawa — mated with Sala, producing the twins. They will tell you that Dawa and Skura are twins or siblings; Dawa reigns during the day, and Skura reigns at night.
Skura is the deity of the night sky, also of madness and chaos. The four erratic stars that move unlike the rest — Daros, Vasiri, Ilida, and Torsied — are known as Skura’s Stars. Skura guards the gateway to the Void of Madness — far worse than any hell — and those who die in the night will want her protection.
The followers of Skura worship only in “natural temples”, like most followers of Pashan. They have a sacred circle in the mountains west of Moru Kel, where they celebrate important celestial and lunar holidays. Worship of Skura is intertwined with worship of the Twin Moons. Most in Moru Kel do recognize Skura as the Twin Moons’ mother, despite dissent from some who claim Skura is only an aspect of Dawa or is evil. Some members of the Allflock are particularly vocal in their dismissal of Skura’s status as a deity.
