One of the founding families of Moru Kel, the Chaupos remain wealthy and influential to this day.
Grekkan Chaupo hailed from Holtep, the city just south of Moru Kel which at the time dominated trade in the area. The eldest child in his family, Grekkan believed strongly that the new city would regain Skandara’s past prominence and abandoned his inheritance to help found the fledgling community. While the first 2 decades of the young city’s history were punctuated by hardship, starvation, and disease, Grekkan’s gamble ultimately paid off as the safety and abundance of Kilpo Bay and wise guidance of Jaleb Lango ultimately resulted in a flourishing — and wealthy — new city.
Today, the Chaupo’s interests are primarily in mining and trading, with mines in the Burkhdyn Gazar and Red Plains augmenting their local quarries. They’re also the owners of the Good Lyre, one of the finest bistros in the city for live music and fine dining in a laid back atmosphere.
Sahar Arbis Chaupo currently heads house Chaupo.
