Marghoz Lango is the current sovereign of Moru Kel. A fourth son, he never expected to ascend to the throne: consequently he spent much of his early adulthood as a confirmed bachelor, travelling the world and enjoying his life. At the age of 29, he fell madly in love with a foreign princess, eloping with her without seeking the consent of his father. He returned home with his bride in 504 K.S. ready to defend himself and his bride from his father’s disapproval.

To his shock, he found a city engulfed in epidemic: his father and two brothers had passed away, and within a month his third brother had succumbed as well. According to Professor Tofiz, he was originally viewed with great skepticism by the citizens. He’s become well-liked through the years, but he was viewed as a lightweight who was never properly groomed for the job initially.Amadi found himself crowned Marghoz at the age of 29. To his surprise, his mother and the new Marghoza Shazar quickly became friends, and with the help of his talented wife and his mother’s experience the new Marghoz quickly learned to govern with a light but steady hand.

20 years later, he has ushered in a golden age for the city by skillfully making alliances with the new arrivals in Tarsha, establishing Moru Kel as a premiere port in the wake of the Maelstrom’s disappearance, and rebuilding much-needed infrastructure. He’s also greatly expanded the city’s agricultural exports, helping foment demand for ochala butter and the fruits of the orchards. And he’s even begun to create academic and cultural attractions in the city, in hopes of competing with the great universities of Mezzi Island and Saffa, the Oracle of Esmi, and the theatres and cultural exhibits of Doma and Wurdonne.

With the city booming, he’s funded the new Moon Dome and funicular in anticipation of using the Symposium of Wonders as a chance to show off Moru Kel on a world stage.
