The Tukari are the second richest family in the city, after the Langos. At least that’s the official word: many folks think they’re actually even richer than the Marghoz’ family. Their scion, Kossimo, discovered rose stone and kicked off the big rose stone craze a few decades back. What began as humble stonecutters and quarriers became the dynamo for the city’s economy for several years. Kossimo’s wealth, and the iconic Rose Villa, thrust Tukari to fame and forced the reigning Lango family to grant him noble status.
Along with their quarries, the Tukari family has diversified into shipping and warehousing concerns in the Docks, and is heavily invested in mining in Yul Fesch. Their newfound wealth has been put to work for the city’s people: while the Rose Temple and People’s Theater are somewhat ostentatious reminders of the rose stone craze, they’re also important public venues for prayer and entertainment.
