Viggen Family

The Viggen family claims their roots go back to old Skandara. Whether that’s true or not, Vinnius Viggen was present in the city when Jaleb Lango’s settlers arrived, and was instrumental in securing the blessing of the Abbey to Whiro for the new city. The Viggens were rapidly seated as one of the founding families.

While well-respected, the Viggens have never been as financially successful as the other founding families, making do with comparatively small fortunes made from copper and tin mining. During the rose stone boom they invested heavily in trying to find their own vein of the precious stone; they succeeded in doing so just toward the tail end of the boom, eventually breaking even on their investments and avoiding ruin. They’re also heavily involved in agriculture, and own the wildly successful line of Maguil’s Pasties shops.

Pellis Viggen was the second son of his father, but both his father and older brother died during the epidemic — Pellis is now the reigning sahar of the house.
