Week 12: More Fun than a Barrel Full of Corn

The group held Perry upstairs for questioning. After a few threats, they learned that he was working for someone powerful who he feared, and eventually Itzal’s name emerged: they learned that Itzal was storing something in the Blue House that he was going to move that afternoon.

During the questioning, Draymond’s shop boy showed up to unload a bunch of cloth, but the group remained silent upstairs until he left. They saw the runner return, and sent Oolong out back with the message to replace it where the collision with Tobias had happened. The Runner gave the bird a swift kick when he found it chewing on his message, grabbed the message and ran off: a shot time later, Halmar (Perry’s friend) and a couple of his men arrived and forced their way upstairs.

They were easily subdued. As the party left Draymon’s, they discovered some spidersilk bolts had been dropped on the floor in front of where they’d stolen the bolt the previous night: perhaps the shopboy had discovered the missing stock and fled to report the theft.

The group headed down to the Blue House with Perry in tow, and gained entry; they started searching, locating a secret tunnel in the room just as Raymon arrived with a couple of the Bronze in tow. Raymon accused Perry of being involved in some sort of illicit trafficking, and was suspicious of the party for being present in the room with Perry (although stopped short of outright accusing them). The party and Bronze discovered the missing Oppa youths in two barrels with false bottoms, and the Bronze took Perry into custody while the rest of the crew followed — Tobias had invoked both Pella and the Marghoz’s letter of introduction, and was held informally pending a meeting with Pella.

Tobias ensured a very safe guard for Perry (indeed, an Inquisitor showed up with both brains and muscle in tow) before the group went to meet Pella. After Pella cleared their names they headed back to stake out the Blue House: Itzal appeared within, where Kyamu and Tobias were waiting, and Errol frantically made his way over as Itzal’s goons approached through the tunnels. Following a pitched battle, Itzal again vanished away, but the group managed to capture one of the goons after killing the other.
